An Oval Miniature Portrait Pendant Brooch in a Tortoiseshell Frame
Description
An oval miniature portrait brooch-pendant, designed in the style of late 18th or 19th-century European portraiture. The central miniature depicts a young woman with fair, curly hair looking over her shoulder, executed in a soft colour palette. The image is protected by a clear glass cover and set within a yellow metal inner bezel. The outer frame is constructed from mottled tortoiseshell. A small yellow metal suspension loop is fixed to the top of the frame, allowing the piece to be worn as a pendant. No maker marks or signatures are visible on the front of the item. This lot is offered for spares or repairs.
