A trio of United Kingdom decimal proof coin sets issued by the Royal Mint. The collection includes two sets dated 1971 and one set dated 1974. The 1971 sets are housed in their original black rectangular folders with white stippled lettering reading THE DECIMAL COINAGE OF GREAT BRITAIN AND NORTHERN IRELAND 1971. The 1974 set is contained in a brown folder featuring a circular emblem on the cover inscribed THE COINAGE OF GREAT BRITAIN AND NORTHERN IRELAND 1974. These sets were produced to commemorate the transition to decimal currency and provide collectors with proof-quality strikes of the circulating denominations.
