A Group of Decorative Ceramics and Pottery Including a Jackfield Style Cow Creamer and Commemorative Jug
Description
A group of decorative ceramics and pottery comprising various earthenware and porcelain items. The collection includes a cow creamer modelled in a standing position on an oval base, finished in a glossy black glaze in the Jackfield style with gilt-effect scrollwork decoration. Also present is a small black-glazed earthenware jug of globular form with a loop handle and short spout, featuring the inscription LITTLE TOWN applied in white slip to the body. The lot features a globular teapot and matching lid decorated with an allover transfer-printed floral pattern in pink, blue, and yellow, with gilt highlights to the spout, handle, and finial. Included is a pair of shell-shaped porcelain dishes, each featuring a central transfer-printed scene of figures in 18th-century costume within a floral border and gilt rim. A small hexagonal lidded vessel with a conforming domed lid is decorated with Chinoiserie-style floral motifs in gold tones against a black ground. The collection is completed by several large earthenware plates and bowls with moulded rims and polychrome floral decorations, and a small white porcelain bowl with a pink floral border. No manufacturer marks are visible on the items as positioned.
