A Silver Two-Handled Trophy Cup for Crofts Sports and Social Club, 326g
Description
A silver two-handled trophy cup of traditional form, historically associated with the Crofts Sports and Social Club of Bradford, West Yorkshire. The cup features a waisted body with a central moulded rib, flanked by two scroll handles with foliate-moulded thumbpieces, all supported by a circular pedestal foot. The front of the bowl is engraved with the following inscription: CROFTS SPORTS & SOCIAL CLUB / INTER-DEPARTMENTAL INDOOR GAMES TROPHY / PRESENTED BY / ARTHUR H.S. [Name illegible]. The exterior bears four marks in individual cartouches arranged vertically: a crown, a Gothic letter S, a letter G, and a letter B.
