Description
A collection of UK and Commonwealth coinage featuring a variety of denominations in bronze and cupro-nickel. The group includes a Royal Mint Britain’s First Decimal Coins commemorative folder in blue with gold-coloured lettering. Included are pre-decimal pennies, half-pennies, florins, and half-crowns. Obverse designs feature the portraits of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II with associated Latin legends. Notable issues include a 1977 Silver Jubilee commemorative crown. Reverse designs across the assortment include Britannia, heraldic shields, and the crowned portcullis. The coins are presented loose, within individual plastic pouches, and in the original mint folder. This collection documents the transition from the pre-decimal system to decimalisation in the UK.
