Ansonia Clock Co. Racket Strike Alarm Nickel-Plated Bell-Top Alarm Clock
Description
An American nickel-plated Racket Strike Alarm clock manufactured by the Ansonia Clock Co., New York. The clock features a cylindrical metal case with a nickel-plated finish and rests on two small peg feet at the front. It is topped with a large external nickel-plated bell, a brass-coloured handle, and a suspension ring. The white dial is printed with black Roman numeral hour markers and a railroad-style outer minute track. It includes two blued-steel spade-style hands and two sub-dials: an alarm setting dial at the 9 o’clock position with Arabic numerals 1-12, and a seconds dial at the 3 o’clock position with Arabic numerals 10-60. The dial is marked RACKET STRIKE ALARM in the centre and MANUFACTURED BY THE ANSONIA CLOCK CO NEW YORK UNITED STATES OF AMERICA along the lower edge. The mechanical movement operates an external alarm mechanism that strikes the top-mounted bell.
