Royal Worcester Painted Fruit Porcelain Teacup and Saucer by Albert Shuck and Thomas Lockyer
Description
This Royal Worcester porcelain teacup and saucer set features hand-painted fruit still life decoration from the Painted Fruit series. The interior of the teacup is decorated with a study of apples and strawberries, signed by the artist Albert Shuck. The exterior of the cup and the handle are fully gilded. The saucer depicts a composition of apples and purple grapes with small blossoms, signed by the artist Thomas Lockyer. The saucer features a gilded central well and a gilded rim. Both pieces bear puce-coloured printed factory marks on the underside consisting of a crown and circle motif with the words Royal Worcester and England. The marks include date dots indicating production in the early 20th century.
