A publication line in a separate cartouche states Performed by John Speed and are to be sold in pops-head alley against the Exchange by John Sudbury and George Humble, with the date 1610. The map features an inset town plan of Chichester in the lower-left corner and the Royal Arms at the top left. A vertical column of eight heraldic shields representing the Earls of Sussex is positioned along the right-hand margin. The cartography shows the county divided into its historical administrative rapes and identifies significant towns, villages, and enclosed parks. The sea is decorated with engraved ships and sea monsters. The map is housed in a stepped black wooden frame with a gilt inner slip and a cream-coloured mount.
