Description
A Victorian mahogany duchess dressing table featuring a serpentine-fronted top with a central frieze drawer. The top is fitted with two raised pedestals, each containing three small drawers with turned wooden knobs. A large oval mirror is mounted above, featuring a carved foliate crest and supported by two ornate scrolled and pierced uprights. The table is supported by a single, heavily carved cabriole front leg decorated with acanthus leaf motifs, terminating in a scrolled foot and resting on a shaped platform base. The primary timber is mahogany with well-figured veneers. No maker’s marks or stamps are visible.
