A Georgian Style Elm and Ash Hoop Back Windsor Armchair
Description
A Windsor-style hoop-back armchair featuring a pierced central splat with a double-scroll motif flanked by vertical spindles. The chair is constructed with a well-figured solid elm seat showing a prominent grain, with the back hoop, spindles, and turned legs in ash or beech. The design includes out-swept arms on turned supports and is supported by four turned legs joined by a curved crinoline stretcher. A small adhesive inventory tag is present on the left side of the back frame. No maker’s marks or stamps are visible. The piece is designed in the English Georgian tradition.
