Description
A Victorian presentation loving cup of cylindrical form, manufactured from earthenware with a cream-coloured glaze. The piece is designed with two angular double-scroll handles and a slightly flared foot. Decoration consists of light blue transfer-printed floral and fruit sprigs, with a scrolling decorative border applied to the interior rim. The body features a hand-painted or custom transfer inscription in black script that reads …sper Borough Miln 1859, though the first part of the name is obscured by a lot sticker. The base displays a single underglaze blue mark in the form of the letter Z.
