An Edwardian mahogany and inlaid mantel clock
Description
An Edwardian-style mantel clock featuring a mahogany-veneered case with a humped arched top. The front of the case is decorated with boxwood stringing and marquetry inlays depicting floral and bow motifs. The structure is detailed with vertical brass pillar supports at the corners and rests upon a stepped plinth base. The circular white dial displays black Arabic numeral hour markers and an outer minute track, with black spade-style hands. The dial is protected by a glazed door within a brass bezel. No winding holes are visible on the dial face, indicating either a rear-wound mechanical movement or a later quartz conversion. No maker marks or signatures are present on the exterior or dial. A small adhesive lot tag marked 501 is attached to the dial glass.
