A large-format print after the original 1962 painting by David Shepherd, titled ‘Elephants at Amboseli’. The composition depicts a herd of elephants traversing a dusty African landscape, rendered in the artist’s signature realistic wildlife style. This work is a print on board, a medium that helped establish Shepherd as a leading wildlife artist of the 20th century. The work is signed and dated in the plate ‘- David Shepherd – ’62’ in the lower-right corner. It is presented in a light-coloured wooden frame with a grey-wash grain finish. The frame bears several small auction labels, including one denoting Lot 397.
