Old Charm Oak Bureau by Wood Bros of Ware
Description
An Old Charm oak bureau in the Tudor revival style, manufactured by Wood Bros of Ware, Hertfordshire. The piece features a fall-front desk section above four graduated long drawers. The fall-front is decorated with three carved linenfold panels and opens on decorative butterfly hinges to reveal a fitted interior with pigeonholes and a red leather-covered writing surface with gold-tooled borders. The uppermost drawer is embellished with a frieze of carved floral motifs. The unit is fitted with cast metal ring pulls throughout. Constructed from oak, the bureau stands on a plinth base with a shaped front apron. A diamond-shaped metal maker label is present on an internal component, bearing the mark Old Charm Furniture, Guaranteed Wood Bros, Ware, Herts.
