A refined mid-century modern sideboard designed by Alfred Cox, dating to the 1950s or early 1960s. This piece is expertly constructed with warm-toned walnut veneers, featuring a central bank of three drawers with distinctive integrated curved wooden pulls. The drawer section is flanked by two cupboard doors, each showcasing highly figured veneer panels that provide a striking decorative contrast. The unit is elevated on four elegant tapered legs, characteristic of the period’s aesthetic. Alfred Cox was a renowned British designer whose work was frequently retailed through prestigious establishments such as Heals of London. The interior retains the original Handcraft Quality Furniture registered trade mark disc and the circular metal AC maker’s mark, confirming its provenance.
