Description
A diverse assembly of decorative ceramics and porcelain, featuring a large glazed earthenware penguin figurine with a cream and black palette and prominent surface crazing. The collection includes several pieces of brown-glazed stoneware hollowware, notably a teapot and small jars, embellished with relief-moulded sprigged classical and hunting scenes in the tradition of Doulton Lambeth or Pearson’s. Also present are various small porcelain and bisque figurines, including white bisque groups of children, hand-painted polychrome figures, miniature rabbits, and a novelty clown-head jar. Decorative techniques include hand-painting, transfer-printing, and relief application. This lot serves as an excellent study collection or project for those interested in pottery and porcelain restoration. Penguin height approximately 28cm; other items of varying miniature and cabinet sizes.
Condition report:
Mixed condition across the lot. The large penguin exhibits heavy crazing throughout the glaze. Several bisque figurines are damaged with visible breaks and detached components. General surface wear, dust, minor chips, and loss to enamel decoration consistent with age and use. Some items are suitable for professional restoration.
