France Jouets (FJ), Peugeot 404 Sedan, Die-cast, c. 1960s
Description
A vintage scale model of a Peugeot 404 Sedan, manufactured by France Jouets (FJ) in France during the 1960s. The model features a die-cast metal body with a moulded plastic chassis and a red plastic interior. It is fitted with a friction-powered motor, with the gear and spring assembly visible on the underside. This item is sold without its original box.
Condition report:
The original light grey paintwork shows visible play wear, including surface scratches and several small paint chips, most notably on the roof and bonnet. The friction mechanism appears complete but is currently untested. The model is largely complete, including the interior, all four wheels, and bumpers. The rubber tyres show age-related wear and dust. A small auction sticker is adhered to the bonnet.
