World of Miniature Bears and Various Makers, Modern Collector Dolls, Porcelain and Mohair, 2 to 18 inches
Description
This lot features a collection of modern collector dolls and miniature teddy bears. One miniature bear is by the maker World of Miniature Bears, while the dolls are by various unidentified late 20th-century manufacturers. The primary dolls are constructed with bisque-finish porcelain heads and partial limbs on stuffed cloth bodies. Features include fixed blue acrylic or glass eyes with applied eyelashes on the larger models and synthetic wigs in blonde and strawberry blonde curls. The dolls are dressed in original clothing, including a red plaid holiday dress with a pom-pom scarf, a blue Victorian-style striped dress, and a pink baby ensemble. One small doll in a green velvet dress carries an inventory tag numbered 6182. Large dolls 14 to 18 inches, small dolls 6 to 10 inches, bears 2 to 4 inches.
Condition report:
The porcelain heads and limbs are in very good condition with no visible cracks, chips, or repairs. The cloth bodies are intact. The synthetic wigs and original clothing are well-preserved, showing only light surface dust consistent with display. One loose miniature bear shows significant thinning to the mohair plush, while the boxed bear remains in excellent condition.
