Description
A varied collection of silver-plated tableware and flatware, featuring a boxed two-piece serving set by Viners in the Love Story pattern. The lot includes a pair of silver-plated scalloped baskets with swing handles, a pedestal gravy boat, a cream jug with a black composite handle, and a five-slot wire toast rack. Flatware comprises a pair of ornate decorative spoons with repoussé bowls, a small flat-handled spreader, and a pair of long, slender sugar tongs. Also included are miscellaneous collectible items: a blue glass piggy bank, a small pocket knife with an iridescent mother-of-pearl style handle, and a miniature novelty item with an Ace of Hearts motif.
Condition report:
The collection is in mixed condition. The silver-plated items, particularly the baskets and gravy boat, exhibit moderate to heavy surface tarnish and oxidisation consistent with age. Other metal pieces show light surface scratches and wear commensurate with use. The boxed Viners serving set appears to be in unused condition, remaining in its original tissue paper. No monograms are present on any of the pieces.
