A Collection of 20th Century Cut and Pressed Glass Tableware Including a Pierced Rim Bowl and a Crystal Basket
Description
A varied collection of 20th-century decorative glass and mixed-media tabletop items. The grouping features a large clear glass centrepiece bowl with a wide, pierced-cut rim that displays a green luminescence. Also included is a heavily cut glass basket-form bowl with an integral handle, decorated with classic diamond and fan motifs. The lot further comprises two square clear glass containers housed within decorative wirework metal cages with handles, a small trumpet-shaped fluted glass vase, and a small rectangular glass trinket box with a metal frame and hinged lid. The glass components exhibit a combination of hand-cut and pressed or moulded techniques. While no maker’s marks are visible, the pieces represent a range of mid-to-late 20th-century styles and manufacturing methods. Large bowl diameter approximately 23 cm, basket height approximately 18 cm.
Condition report:
The collection is in good overall condition. Minor surface abrasions and light shelf wear are present, consistent with age and domestic use. No major chips, cracks, or restorations were observed during inspection. The metal components of the wirework cages and trinket box show slight oxidation and a natural aged patina.
