A Large Collection of Mid-Century Novelty Ceramic Egg Cups and Kitchenware
Description
A comprehensive assortment of vintage novelty kitchenware, primarily consisting of egg cups, dating from the mid-20th century. The collection features a variety of anthropomorphic designs, including numerous egg cups with stylised human faces and character expressions. Notable pieces include several figurines of gnomes or elves in blue and green attire, a turtle-form vessel, a cat-faced cup, and a salt and pepper set designed as a camper van. The items are crafted from glazed earthenware and ceramic, displaying a range of moulded forms and hand-painted decorative details. While no specific maker’s marks are visible, the style is characteristic of mid-century mass-produced decorative ceramics. Tray not included. Individual egg cups approximately 5cm to 7cm in height.
Condition report:
The collection is in varied condition consistent with age and domestic use. There are visible signs of surface wear, minor glaze imperfections, and small chips to some edges. Some pieces exhibit crazing to the glaze. The set is sold as seen.
