Description

A varied collection of decorative and commemorative ceramics and porcelain. The focal point is a fine bone china commemorative plate produced for the 1981 Royal Wedding, depicting St. Paul’s Cathedral. It features a rich cobalt blue border with elaborate gilded scrollwork and heraldic motifs, presented in its original red case with a certificate of authenticity. The lot includes three pieces of Royal Doulton ‘Bunnykins’ nursery ware, comprising a bowl and two plates with traditional transfer-printed scenes. Further items include a large, white-glazed divided serving dish with hand-painted polychrome aquatic and crustacean motifs; a substantial polychrome ceramic ashtray with stylised floral decoration; and a Continental-style porcelain figural vase with a hand-modelled cherub and encrusted floral sprays. Completing the collection is a blue-and-white transfer-printed tray, a small porcelain goblet, and a rustic log-form vessel. These pieces showcase a range of manufacturing techniques including hand-modelling, transfer printing, and gilding. St. Paul’s plate diameter approx. 27 cm. Bunnykins plates approx. 20 cm. Divided dish width approx. 31 cm.

Condition report:

The Bunnykins and serving pieces exhibit minor surface wear and light scratching consistent with age and use. The encrusted floral vase has some minor losses to the delicate petals.
