Description
An eclectic assortment of vintage leisure items and decorative objects. The collection features several folding hand fans, including a black lace example with gold-tone accents, a paper fan featuring a lithographed classical garden scene with figures, and a modern souvenir fan from the United Arab Emirates depicting regional landmarks and camels. Gaming items comprise various sets of dominoes housed in wooden and cardboard boxes, including a large natural wood box and a decorative pictorial lidded box. Playing cards include a boxed set of The Centenary Playing Cards (1890-1990), Piatnik Patience Cards in a green textured box, and a vintage Snap card game by Wrights. Additional curiosities include a magnifying glass with a turned dark wood handle and brass-tone ferrule, a small black decorative shoe, a green multi-compartment folding travel case, and a red vinyl pouch. Materials include wood, card, paper, lace, and plastic. Overall dimensions of the grouping approximately 60cm x 45cm.
Condition report:
The collection exhibits a varied state of preservation consistent with age and use. Cardboard gaming boxes show typical shelf wear, edge scuffing, and some structural softening, particularly to the Snap and domino boxes. The fans appear generally well-preserved with minor creasing to the paper leaves and light dust. The magnifying glass is functional with minor surface wear to the handle. Card decks and domino sets are uncounted and sold as a mixed lot. All items are in original, unrestored condition.
