Description
A comprehensive collection of vintage sewing and personal grooming items presented in a red plastic tray. The lot features a diverse assortment of haberdashery, including several pairs of steel scissors of varying sizes, two glass jars containing a variety of white buttons, and an extensive collection of multi-coloured embroidery floss skeins. Notable decorative items include a pink velvet pincushion featuring intricate beadwork and lace edging, alongside a spherical beaded pincushion or ornament with floral motifs. The collection also includes several small storage containers: a green textured rectangular box with gilt-tooled borders, a brown crocodile-effect hexagonal box, and a heavily worn black oval case. Advertising ephemera is present in the form of original cardboard packaging for Ever-Ready Safety Razor Blades and Corrux blades. Materials include steel, glass, velvet, cardboard, and cotton. No ruler or scale is present for measurement.
Condition report:
The items exhibit varying degrees of age-related wear consistent with domestic use. Metal tools show visible patina and surface oxidation. The cardboard advertising boxes show edge wear and softening of the corners. The green and brown boxes remain in fair condition with some surface scuffing, while the black oval case shows significant surface abrasion and loss of finish. Textiles and beadwork appear largely intact with minor fading and light dust accumulation. The lot is sold as seen.
