This extensive collection comprises a diverse assortment of cutting tools and implements, ranging from the late Victorian era through to the mid-20th century. The lot features a variety of forms including dressmaking shears, delicate embroidery scissors, and specialised surgical instruments. Constructed primarily from forged steel and iron, the collection includes examples with silver-toned plating and decorative gilt-finished handles. Notable decorative elements include ornate Victorian-style filigree and cast scrollwork loops, contrasted by utilitarian industrial designs. One pair features a turned wooden handle. A partially legible inventory tag identifies one set as EDGAR SCISSORS. Condition report:
The collection is in mixed condition. Several items exhibit significant surface oxidation and heavy rust, particularly the older iron examples.
