Description
A comprehensive assortment of lapidary materials and semi-precious stone specimens presented in a red plastic tray. The lot comprises various polished slabs, cabochons, and fragments featuring a diverse range of minerals including malachite, carnelian, banded agate, jasper, and amethyst. Notable elements include a large rectangular tablet of dark green mottled stone, possibly jade or serpentine, alongside two small rectangular stone containers housing smaller fragments. The collection features several worked pieces in rectangular and oval forms, a dark brown banded specimen resembling petrified wood, and a small cylindrical black and metal-toned object. These materials are characteristic of the types utilised in the production of fine jewellery and decorative objects. No maker’s marks or signatures are present. Tray measures approximately 40cm x 30cm; individual stone sizes vary.
Condition report:
The condition is varied across the lot. Many polished surfaces exhibit minor surface scratches and abrasions consistent with bulk storage and age. Some fragments show natural inclusions and irregular edges. The red plastic tray is an inventory housing and shows signs of use.
