Description
This collection of antique and vintage vanity and dressing table accessories comprises a diverse assortment of personal grooming and decorative items. The lot includes several hairbrushes and clothing brushes, a hand mirror, small trinket and vanity boxes, hair accessories, and small carved implements such as a letter opener. Materials include tortoiseshell or high-quality faux-tortoiseshell (celluloid/acetate), a square vanity box featuring a geometric mosaic of mother-of-pearl tiles, and a rectangular metal box finished in bright blue enamel with hand-painted floral details. Various small carved pieces appear to be made of bone or early synthetic materials. The brushes feature natural hair or fibre bristles. Decorative elements include a printed religious image of the Madonna and Child on a small box and various gilded or inlaid monograms, including a prominent EMD in a shield.
