A Weathered Cast Stone Garden Birdbath of Square Form Category: Stoneware
Description
A 20th-century weathered cast stone garden birdbath, comprising a square shallow basin raised upon a tapering square-section pedestal. The piece is decorated throughout with molded relief in a rusticated faux-stone pattern, providing a textured, organic aesthetic. The material is a coarse-grained composite stone which has developed a heavy natural patination from outdoor exposure, including significant moss and lichen growth, particularly within the basin and at the base of the pedestal. A small paper identification sticker is affixed to the interior rim of the basin. This item reflects the traditional British garden ornament style, designed to blend into a mature landscape. Height: approximately 46 cm; Basin: 30 cm square.
Condition report:
The birdbath is in a heavily weathered condition consistent with long-term garden use. There is extensive moss and lichen coverage across all surfaces.
