Mid-Century Modern Mahogany Veneered Coffee Table
Description
A mid-20th-century coffee table in the Mid-Century Modern style, dating from circa 1950-1960. The piece features a rectangular top finished in a rich reddish-brown mahogany veneer with a straight grain pattern. The top is elevated by four slender, tapered legs crafted from solid hardwood, reflecting the minimalist design principles of the era. The construction prioritises clean lines and functional form without extraneous ornamentation. No maker’s labels or branding are present, though a small white inventory sticker is affixed to the top surface. Dimensions: H 40 cm x W 110 cm x D 45 cm.
Condition report:
The table is in good structural condition. The mahogany veneer on the top surface shows a consistent colour and finish with minimal signs of age-related wear. There is noticeable scuffing and loss of finish to the base of the tapered legs consistent with regular use and floor contact. No evidence of woodworm or significant structural repairs.
