Description
This oil on stretched canvas landscape is a vibrant Post-Impressionist pastiche of Vincent van Gogh’s 1890 composition. The subject matter features a prominent, dark cypress tree flanked by celestial bodies including a crescent moon and swirling stars, with a horse-drawn carriage and figures depicted in the lower right foreground. The brushwork is characterised by thick, rhythmic impasto that creates a highly textured and dynamic surface. The work is signed G. de Long in red paint along the lower right margin. It is housed in an ornate, deep-profile gilded frame featuring a white wooden inner liner. No provenance or verso labels are present.

The painting appears to be in good overall condition. The heavy paint application shows no significant signs of craquelure, loss, or restoration. Minor surface dust is present within the impasto.
