Description
After Vincent van Gogh (Dutch, 1853–1890). This work is a contemporary hand-painted reproduction of the artist’s celebrated still life series. Executed in oil on stretched canvas, the composition depicts a vibrant bouquet of sunflowers in a ceramic vase against a pale blue background. The artist has employed a heavy impasto technique to mimic the expressive, textured brushwork characteristic of the original Post-Impressionist masterpiece. The colour palette is dominated by rich ochres, cadmium yellows, and deep greens. Signed Vincent in red paint towards the upper right edge. The painting is presented in an ornate, heavily moulded gilded composite frame featuring foliate and scrollwork motifs, finished with a stepped cream-coloured liner. 60 x 50 cm.
Condition report:
The painting appears to be in good overall condition. The paint layer is stable with no visible signs of craquelure, flaking, or significant paint loss. There is a light accumulation of surface dust and minor debris consistent with age. The canvas tension is adequate. The ornate frame is in good structural condition with minor surface wear and small chips to the gilding consistent with handling. The verso was not inspected.
