Description
A varied collection of nine English ceramic Toby and character jugs, featuring hand-painted polychrome decoration under a clear glaze. The assortment includes traditional full-figure Toby jugs depicted in seated poses, wearing tricorn hats and waistcoats in various colours including russet, emerald green, and burgundy. Also included are bust-length character jugs, notably one figure wearing a textured fur-style cap and another depicting the classic Happy John figure. The pieces exhibit fine moulded details characteristic of 20th-century Staffordshire pottery traditions. While specific factory marks are not fully visible, the styles and forms are consistent with manufacturers such as Royal Doulton, SylvaC, and Shorter and Son. Largest height approximately 16 cm.
