Goebel, Collection of Five Vintage Animal and Whimsical Figurines
Description
A charming lot of five vintage glazed ceramic and porcelain figurines manufactured by W. Goebel in West Germany. The collection includes: 1. A black and white spaniel-type dog with a small brown puppy, incised model number Slae 15, stamped by W. Goebel, Western Germany, and dated 1953. 2. A whimsical pig emerging from a brown-glazed wooden barrel. 3. A grey and white cat planter or toothpick holder with a hollowed-out back. 4. A gnome or dwarf figure wearing a red hat and yellow shirt, holding an inverted red umbrella. 5. Two small yellow birds perched on a bright red heart-shaped base. All items feature the blue V with a bee factory mark, specifically the TMK-2 Full Bee mark used during the 1950s. Heights range from approximately 5 cm to 10 cm.
Condition report:
The collection is in overall excellent vintage condition. The dog and puppy, pig in a barrel, gnome, and birds show no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The cat planter exhibits minor shelf wear to the base but remains free of damage. Colours are bright and glazes are intact across all pieces. Typical minor shelf wear consistent with age is present on the unglazed footrims.
