A Collection of Victorian and Mid-Century Art Glass including Fenton Opalescent and Cranberry Glass Category: Vintage Glass
Description
A diverse assortment of decorative art glass and collectibles, featuring notable examples of Victorian-style and mid-century production. The collection includes a Fenton turquoise opalescent glass basket with a moulded lattice design and crimped rim, alongside a large hand-blown shell-form art glass vase displaying an iridescent green-to-blue ombré finish and a white fluted rim. Cranberry glass items comprise a sugar shaker with a perforated silver-toned metal lid and a rose bowl fitted with a brass-toned metal flower frog. Also present is a pink glass jar featuring hand-painted floral motifs and a fitted lid, a cobalt blue swirl-textured glass bowl, and two miniature glass animal figurines. The pieces demonstrate various manufacturing techniques including hand-blowing, mould-pressing, and hand-painting. While no maker’s marks are immediately visible, the turquoise basket is characteristic of Fenton Art Glass. Shell vase approximately 22cm wide; sugar shaker 14cm high; turquoise basket 18cm wide.
Condition report:
The collection is in good overall condition. Minor surface wear and light scratching consistent with age and use are present. The metal components of the sugar shaker and rose bowl show light oxidation and tarnishing. No significant chips, cracks, or restorations are visible upon initial inspection.
