Lot 46:
Late 20th Century Oak Two-Part Corner Cabinet with Leaded Glazing
Description
This late 20th-century corner cabinet is constructed from oak with a prominent grain, finished in a warm medium-brown tone. The piece is designed in two sections for ease of placement. The upper section features a shaped, arched pediment centred by a carved floral and foliate motif. Below, a single glazed door contains leaded-style glass arranged in a decorative geometric diamond pattern, opening to reveal internal shelving. The lower section comprises a cupboard with a single door featuring a raised panel that mirrors the arched profile of the upper section. The cabinet utilises standard frame-and-panel construction techniques typical of the late 20th century. It retains its original brass-toned hardware, including surface-mounted hinges and small pull knobs. Dimensions: 180cm H x 65cm W x 40cm D.
Condition report:
The cabinet is in good structural condition. The oak finish remains consistent across both sections, showing only minor surface wear and light scuffs commensurate with age and domestic use. The glazing is intact and free from cracks. Hardware is functional and original. No evidence of woodworm, significant structural repairs, or veneer loss is present.
