Lot 25:
Unidentified, Mahogany Tambour Mantel Clock, Edwardian
Description
This Edwardian mahogany-veneered tambour mantel clock features a classic humpback case. The mechanical movement is a dual-winding strike mechanism, likely an 8-day movement that strikes on the hour and half-hour. The case is decorated with elegant lightwood stringing and marquetry inlay featuring floral and bow motifs, accented by four small brass columns at the corners and resting on an integral shaped base. The circular off-white dial is protected by a brass-rimmed glass bezel and features black Arabic numerals, an outer minute track, and black spade-style hands. Dimensions: 23cm high, 42cm wide, 14cm deep.
Condition report:
The clock is currently untested. The mechanical movement requires professional servicing to ensure functionality. The mahogany case shows minor surface wear and age-appropriate patina to the wood and brass components. There is a small inventory sticker present on the front face. The dial, hands, and glass bezel appear in good order. No key or pendulum is present.
