Description
A George III style mahogany drop-leaf dining table, likely dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The piece features an oval top comprising a fixed centre section and two hinged leaves, crafted from solid mahogany with a warm, aged patina. The table is raised on four slender cabriole legs, each terminating in a well-defined pad foot. The design utilises a gate-leg mechanism where two legs swing out to provide support for the leaves when in the open position. This example captures the refined proportions of early Georgian furniture, characterised by its minimalist ornamentation and graceful curves. No maker’s stamps or retailer labels are visible. Dimensions: H 72 cm x W 106 cm (extended) x D 91 cm.
