A Late Victorian Gothic Revival Oak Console Table
Description
A single console or hall table dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1880s-1890s, constructed primarily of oak. The piece exhibits characteristics of the Gothic Revival style, featuring a rectangular top above a decorative apron with a scalloped lower edge. The table is backed by a prominent peaked backboard (pediment) centered with a carved shield or escutcheon motif. The table is supported by four noticeably turned legs. A small, partially legible white tag reading “?? 10” is affixed to the front left edge of the top surface.
