Hermle Blakely/Anstead Model Longcase Grandfather Clock
Description
A modern longcase grandfather clock attributed to the German manufacturer Hermle, consistent with the Blakely or Anstead models, constructed of dark polished hardwood, likely stained oak or mahogany veneer. The clock features a broken arch pediment topped by three decorative carved finials. The hood and trunk are flanked by fluted columnar pilasters. The square brass-toned dial includes a silvered chapter ring displaying Arabic numerals, elaborate pierced gilt scrollwork surrounding the hands, and a subsidiary moon phase complication located in the arch above the main dial. The movement is indicated as a triple chime mechanism by the presence of three visible cylindrical polished brass weight shells and a polished brass pendulum visible through the glass door of the trunk. The clock is staged adjacent to a light wood bookcase and various decorative items, but these are not included in the lot.
