Description
This lot presents a collection of six assorted decorative and utility boxes, featuring a range of materials, forms, and decorative styles. Included are a patinated brass or bronze D-shaped box, a rectangular brass-toned metal box with a cream-colored enameled or painted lid displaying a vibrant multi-floral motif, and two ornate rectangular silver-toned metal boxes – one with heavily embossed floral and foliate repoussé, and the other with chased or engraved patterns and a central blank cartouche, both standing on small feet. Also present is an oval copper box with a hinged, domed lid, front clasp, and embossed details around the base, and a rectangular painted tin money box or strongbox with a coin slot, adorned with stripes and stylized clasps. No discernible text or maker’s marks are visible on any of the items.
