An Edwardian Arts and Crafts Oak Upright Piano by L. Pohlmann
Description
An antique upright piano manufactured by L. Pohlmann, Halifax. The case is constructed from quarter-sawn oak in the Arts and Crafts or Edwardian style, featuring decorative recessed geometric panelling to the upper and lower front boards. The instrument is designed with an integrated, architectural music rest and a fallboard bearing the maker name L. POHLMANN in gilt lettering to the right-hand side. The keyboard is supported by two substantial barley-twist legs terminating in block feet. It features a full-sized keyboard with period key tops and two brass pedals at the base.
