A late 19th or early 20th-century rustic painted wooden cricket stool
Description
A small vernacular wooden stool of cricket stool form. The piece features a thick, solid rectangular top with hand-hewn rounded edges, set upon four splayed, turned legs that taper to rounded feet. The entire structure is composed of solid wood and is finished in a heavily distressed off-white or cream-coloured paint. Two paper auction lot labels are present bearing the handwritten characters 9748 / 2.
