Description
This topographical street scene, attributed to the artist Louisa Fennell, is executed in watercolour on paper. The composition depicts a narrow historic street lined with a variety of architectural styles, including timber-framed and red brick buildings. In the background, a tall Gothic church spire rises prominently against a light sky. The scene is populated with figures and a horse-drawn carriage, rendered with the fine detail characteristic of late Victorian or Edwardian topographical art. The work is housed in a sage green double mount within a decorative gilt-finished frame. An auction house lot sticker numbered 9754 is affixed to the glass.
