A Murphy All Transistor Model B605 Table Radio
Description
A vintage Murphy transistor table radio, model B605, manufactured by Murphy Radio Ltd. of Welwyn Garden City. The radio features a rectangular dark grey plastic cabinet with a contrasting cream-coloured vertical slatted plastic front grille. The control interface is set into a silver-tone panel and includes two black plastic knobs with silver-finish caps, labelled OFF-VOL and S2 S1 M, indicating coverage for Medium wave and two Shortwave bands. The panel displays the murphy logo in red script and is marked ALL TRANSISTOR in red uppercase letters. To the right is a large circular tuning dial protected by a clear plastic cover, featuring multiple frequency scales and a central tuning knob.
