A Framed and Signed Promotional Poster for the World Premiere of Perfect Pitch by John Godber, 1998
Description
An original framed promotional poster for the world premiere production of the play Perfect Pitch, written and directed by John Godber. The poster advertises the production at the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough, which ran from 2 July to 5 September 1998. The graphic design features a cartoon illustration of characters and a caravan set against a Union Jack background, with the printed tagline Brooding sexuality… chemical toilets. The poster is signed in black ink by several individuals: in the upper right quadrant is a signature appearing to read Jacqui; on the middle right is a signature starting with John; in the bottom right over the theatre logo is a large stylised signature beginning with J and G, attributed to John Godber; and in the bottom left is a signature reading Tony. A small silver holographic security sticker with a serial number is located at the bottom right, and a small white adhesive label with the handwritten number 3676 is present on the right side. The poster is mounted behind glass in a silver-toned frame.
