A Wood Bros Old Charm Tudor Revival oak dresser
Description
A late 20th-century Tudor Revival oak dresser from the Old Charm range by Wood Bros. The unit is of two-piece construction. The upper section features a recessed hutch with a moulded cornice above a decorative frieze, which is embellished with a series of carved arched valances and turned pendants. The central portion of the hutch contains a pair of glazed doors with leaded diamond-patterned panes, opening to reveal a mirrored interior. This central cabinet is flanked by open shelving on either side. The lower sideboard base comprises three frieze drawers situated above a three-door cupboard. Each cupboard door is decorated with recessed panels topped with carved Gothic-style arches. The unit is raised on a plinth base with a shaped front apron. The dresser is fitted with antiqued metal hardware, including decorative butterfly-style hinges and drop-ring pull handles. The construction is of oak with a medium-to-dark brown finish. No maker’s marks are visible on the exterior or through the glazing.
