A Decorative Copper-Finished Corinthian-Style Helmet Replica with Transverse Plume
Description
A contemporary decorative replica of an ancient Greek Corinthian-style helmet. The piece is constructed from metal with a copper-toned finish. It features characteristic almond-shaped eye apertures, an integrated nasal guard, and fixed cheek pieces. The helmet is surmounted by a large transverse crest, the base of which is decorated with a black and white Greek key meander pattern. The plume is composed of alternating sections of black and white hair, with long white trailing tails on either side. Internal inspection reveals the use of modern mechanical fasteners, such as screws and bolts, to secure the crest to the skull of the helmet.
