A Collection of 20th Century Terracotta Garden Pots
Description
A collection of red terracotta earthenware garden pots of tapered circular form. The group comprises several nested stacks of varying sizes. Decorative elements include moulded horizontal ribbing on several bodies and one larger pot featuring a moulded Greek key meander frieze located below the rim. Other pots in the collection are plain with simple flared rims. One larger vessel is designed with an internal rim to support a lid or insert. These items are characteristic of 20th-century British horticultural pottery. No maker marks are visible on the exterior or interior surfaces.
