A Sheraton Style Mahogany Flip-Top Server
Description
A Sheraton style mahogany flip-top server or side cabinet of single-piece construction, likely dating from the mid-20th century. The unit features a rectangular top with two hinged leaves designed to open and provide an extended horizontal surface. The front is configured with two solid wood panelled doors, each decorated with rectangular lightwood stringing inlay. The interior is fitted with a single fixed horizontal shelf. The cabinet is equipped with brass hardware, including two ring-pull handles on circular backplates and two brass keyhole escutcheons. The piece stands on four square tapered legs. While the form and style are consistent with mid-century American revivalist manufacturers such as Drexel Heritage, no maker’s marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the unit.
