A mid-20th-century Georgian revival mahogany dining table and a set of six shield-back chairs
Description
A mahogany dining suite in the Georgian revival style, comprising an extendable twin-pedestal table and a set of six chairs. The table features an oval top with a crossbanded border, currently fitted with one central extension leaf. The top is supported by two pedestals, each with a turned central column and three splayed, reeded legs terminating in brass caps and casters. The set of chairs includes two carver chairs with open arms and four side chairs. Each chair is designed with a Hepplewhite style shield back featuring a pierced splat with a carved foliate motif. The stuff-over seats are upholstered in a light blue fabric. The chairs are supported by square tapering legs joined by an H-stretcher. No maker marks or labels are present.
